2nd Chair of Chapter Council, 1983-1987

I was a member of the first Chapter Council and served as both Vice-Chair and Chair. The early eighties were a very exciting time for chapters. The recent Regional Group restructuring created a governance connection with MLA.
Chapter Council was given an opportunity to do something new. Now Chapters had a voice and were a viable part of MLA. Members of Chapters and National now saw value in belonging to both organizations.

Developing and writing the Chapter Council procedural manual was a monumental task. There was no model to work from. The manual was created using a typewriter, not a PC!

Looking back, all the hard work was worth it. It is nice to know that you were part of something that has lasted.
